When you need help creating or updating
your safety program, who will you call?

Preference's consulting services compare to OSHA's...with one exception.

The OSHA Consultation program conducts a complete safety audit, including an assessment of the safety program’s effectiveness. The written materials (e.g., statement of purpose, goals, objectives, emergency plan) are reviewed first for clarity, completeness and currency, and then for evidence that the written materials have been effectively implemented. OSHA consultants pay particular attention to training and documentation, OSHA 300 logs, near miss reports, and then they evaluate any trends.

Usually the administrative review is followed by a walk-through inspection of the facility to spot potential hazards that could affect the health and safety of employees. Once the review is complete, they will compile a report and send it to you. In part, the report highlights any violations and dictates a certain number of days to correct any serious hazards. If these aren’t corrected in the time period noted, they are required to notify the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. If this happens, the company is subject to a citation for the violations in the event of an OSHA-enforced inspection.

Preference Personnel offers a comparable OSHA safety audit, except we are not required to notify OSHA of any serious violations. We can assist you in becoming compliant by explaining the hazards and suggesting corrective actions. And, as always, all of our services are confidential.

About the Consultant... Vic Jones

Vic Jones, PHR, a certified OSHA 30 Hr. Outreach Trainer for General Industry, has a variety of responsibilities including: overseeing Preference’s safety program and workers’ compensation, administering drug tests, providing safety orientations to Preference’s employees, and conducting forklift training. He also assists our professional placement team on a diverse range of projects.

A member of the Northern Region Association of Safety Professionals, Vic attends various seminars as part of his continuing education in general business OSHA and Work Comp requirements.
