Preference Gives to Industry More Info

What does it cost a job seeker to use your services?
NOTHING! There is NEVER a fee to you, the job seeker. We are compensated by our client-employers.

Do you offer only temporary work?
No, Preference Personnel also specializes in Career Placement and Temp-to-Hire positions.

Do you have a listing of your open jobs?
Yes, our Job Board lists opportunities in a wide range of industries. Due to the fact that jobs typically fill quickly, however, we also encourage you to contact our certified consultants about many other exciting positions that are not listed - 293-6905.

Can I register online?
You can email us your resume at jobs@preferencepersoonel and search for opportunities on our Job Board; however, we suggest you also come in to our office to complete our application and then interview with a consultant.

Do I need to make an appointment?
If you’re looking for a temporary position, you can stop in anytime between 7:30 and 5:00, Monday through Friday. For Temp-to-Hire and Professional/Executive level placements, we recommend that you call and set up an appointment; however, walk-ins are always welcome.

How long does it take?
The initial registration process takes about an hour and consists of filling out an application and interviewing with a consultant.

If I work a temporary position will placement consultants still continue to search for a career opportunity for me?
Absolutely! Many people find that working temporary assignments fits in very well with their ongoing career search because it provides a variety of learning opportunities, a paycheck, and the opportunity to keep growing your resume!

How often will I be paid?
On temporary assignments employees will be paid every Friday for the previous week worked. Temporary employees can pick up their paycheck from 7:30am to 5:00 pm, or they can have it mailed.

If I turn down an assignment, will I be called again for future assignments?
Yes! You will be called whenever an assignment meets your criteria.

Are the temporary jobs minimum wage positions?
No. All our positions are competitively compensated to reflect the skill levels required to perform the job effectively.

What does it mean to be registered with Preference Personnel?
It means you are an active candidate to be considered for all jobs and careers that fit your qualifications, interests, and salary requirements. If we have a potential opportunity, we will contact you prior to sending out your information, as you may be doing a confidential search.

How long can I be a registered candidate with Preference?
You remain active as long as you stay in communication with our team of consultants.

What does it mean to be a "temp" (temporary) or "contract" employee?
As either a temp or contract employee, you are an employee of Preference Personnel working on-site at one of our client companies. The assignments vary in skill set and range from 4 hours to projects lasting up to a year. Contract work is generally more common in the IT and accounting fields.

What other job seekers are saying:

I’ve worked with Todd off and on for almost 6 years. Todd is always very helpful and friendly. He always keeps me working. He’s an awesome person, very easy to get with, and you can tell him anything.

---------------

I’ve worked with Darlene doing temporary work for almost 12 years. A friend referred me to work with her. When I get done with my farming every year I call Darlene and she finds me a job for the winter that I like and I am comfortable doing. She makes it so easy! I like Darlene and her attitude. Everybody that works at Preference is great, but she’s the best!
