The following are highlights of the growth we have seen
since opening our doors 22 years ago.

November 5, 1987 Candice and Larry Dietz take their ideas, business plan and ambitions from the kitchen table to an office in the former Butler Building in south Fargo.
   
September 9, 1990 After three years of connecting executive-level job seekers with employers, clients request a local option for temporary staffing services.  Preference Personnel opens Preferred Temporary Services.
   
1991-1995 Preference Personnel is recognized as one of Fargo's top ten fastest growing companies known by the former Fargo Chamber of Commerce's "Metro Fifty."
   
May 1996 Preference Personnel and Preferred Temporary Services merge.
   
September 1996

Designed, built and moved into Preference Personnel's current building on 9th Avenue South.

   
April 1998 Acquired Competitor Recruitment Specialists, a local staffing company and competition.
   
January 1999 Developed safety training and consulting services.
   
August 2001 Acquired Jeane Thorn Staffing Company's Fargo interests.
   
November 21, 2002 Candice quoted in reference to Preference Personnel in The Wall Street Journal on the Fargo area labor market.
   
November 2004 Candice signs a six-year term as a member of the North Dakota Workforce Council.
   
August 2005 Preference expands into the Information Technology sector.
   
June 2007 Position added to Preference's labor staffing division to create the largest non day-labor staffing operation in the community.
   
July 2007 David Dietz nominated as president of the North Dakota Staffing Association and served a two and a half year term.
   
February 2008 Position added to Preference's professional placement division to create the largest team of professional/executive recruiters in the community.
   
November 2008  David Dietz signs on as Vice Chair for the American Staffing Association Industrial Policy Council.
   
December 1, 2008 An Employee Stock Ownership Plan assumes 100% ownership of Preference Personnel.
   
January 2009 David Dietz invited to serve on the board for the National Independent Staffing Association.
   
Today Amidst intense competition from national franchises and corporate chains, Preference Personnel remains the only full service, independent placement and staffing firm local to Fargo-Moorhead.
