"We have benefited from Preference Personnel’s Safety Consulting
Services since 2001. Anyone would find Vic Jones, Safety Consultant,
professional, knowledgeable, and capable of providing your company
with OSHA-required safety training and programs."
– Trail King Industries

Attention to safety not only helps protect a business’s most valuable resource, its people, but it also helps prevent both personal and financial loss.

As an employer, you are responsible for providing a safe and healthy work environment for your workers. Addressing safety and health issues in the workplace saves money and adds value to your business. Recent estimates place the costs associated with occupational injuries close to $170 billion–expenditures that come straight out of company profits.

The good news is that employers can mostly control what happens before a work injury occurs.

"Vic's knowledge and expertise have been valuable assets in reviewing our safety program as well as assisting us with the necessary safety training."
- Fargo Freightliner

When workers stay healthy, the direct cost-savings
to businesses include:

  • Lower workers’ compensation insurance costs.

  • Reduced medical expenditures.

  • Smaller expenditures for return-to-work programs.

  • Fewer faulty products.

  • Lower costs for job accommodations for
    injured workers.

  • Less money spent on overtime.

Safety and health also make big reductions in indirect costs, due to:
  • Increased productivity.
  • Higher quality products.
  • Increased morale.
  • Better labor/management relations.
  • Reduced turnover.
  • Better use of human resources.

Important Notice:

Under the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 ( OSH Act), employers must provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that are causing, or are likely to cause, death or serious physical harm to employees regardless of the size of the business. Employers must comply with OSHA standards and regulations under the OSH Act, including those OSHA standards and regulations that apply to their workplace and provide copies of them to employees upon request.

Most businesses with 11 or more employees at any time during the calendar year must maintain records of occupational injuries and illnesses as they occur using OSHA Form 300, Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses. Such recordkeeping is not required for employers in most retail trade, finance, insurance, real estate, and service industries.
